Actress Angel Locsin, an activist and philanthropist is now being called by the netizens as the nation’s real life Darna. Because of her passion and dedication to reach out and help others, fans can’t help but to think that she really embodies Darna, the role she played in TV 10 years ago.

And you can never recall a single time that the actress got into a controversy regarding her attitude or the way she “fakes” her agenda of helping just for the exposure in the media.

As a matter of fact, the actress became an activist a long time ago and have been helping people in silence, only announcing the progress of their outreach program whenever there is a public donation drive.

An ABS CBN director recently posted on Facebook and revealed how Angel treats his workmates on the set.

Lester Pimentel Ong, one of the directors of ABS CBN’s hit series La Luna Sangre talked about how the actress really act when there is no camera around.

“Gusto ko lang share ang experience ko working with this person. There was one time, isa sa mga stuntmen namin got heavily injured, naputol ang pinakamalaking buto nya sa hita sa isang aksidente na hindi work related. Ang pobreng stuntman, naospital sa orthopaedic center ng mahigit isang buwan, ubos ang ipon at malaking chance hindi na siya makakalakad muli dahil hindi na niya afford ang mga susunod pang operation na kailangan gawin…” he shared.

“One late night ng konti na lang tao sa public hospital kung saan nakaconfine si injured stuntman, dumating siya kasama lang ang driver niya…kinumusta si stuntman, consoled his wife and mom, then asked the person in charge of the hospital how much was the accumulated bill at magkano pa ang kakailanganin para makalakad pa ulit si stuntman” he added.

According to Ong, Angel paid all the expenses and even left some extra money for the family and did not forget to leave some encouraging words to lift them up.

“Siya si Angel Locsin, she is the real life Darna…hero sya kahit sa likod ng camera, kahit walang nakatingin at walang nakakaalam…” Ong continued.

Yap, who is known by making controversial movies will be tackling about a teenage mom who is just starting to discover the beauty of being a lady latter in life, after breaking up with his husband, who was also her first boyfriend.

And as expected with Yap, Revirginized will be having daring scenes.

Is the singer and actress husband, senator Kiko Pangilinan has approved of this?

“Parang sa endorsements, this is a well-known fact in the advertising industry. You can talk to anybody in any advertising company…

“Sa dami ng endorsement offers na tinanggihan ko over the decades, dahil ang feeling ko, babayaran nga ako pero yung produkto, parang palpak ‘to or yung serbisyong ‘to, hindi ko malunok.”

For the past few years that actress Bea Alonzo has been searching and risking for love, she has always expected to get married at her late 20s.

“Dati, ang pangarap ko lang naman, at 28 [years old], is to get married then have children,” she said during a heart to heart talk with his former leading man, Ian Veneracion on her newly uploaded vlog on her Youtube channel.

Added the actress, “’Tapos ngayon lahat ng peers ko, halos lahat sila about to get married, or they’re already married, and they have kids.

“Pag inisip ko, I wouldn’t have guessed nung time na ‘yon, fifteen years ago, na ako yung huling huling mababakante.

“I’ve always thought I’m the marrying type.”

Ian teased the actress that perhaps, being a mother is way more suitable than her having a partner.

“A child would improve the quality of your life, a marriage wouldn’t.” Ian stated.

But then, Bea explains, “Actually, I want to have a partner for life. I want to have someone to be there to raise a family, build a life with.

“I just want a boring life, a boring family life,”

Added her, “Siguro push natin hanggang 35,”

BEA AS A GIRLFRIEND

When it comes to being a significant other, Bea revealed that she has always find it natural for her.

“Masyado siyang madali, na nagiging complacent.

“I always give too much because I think exerting an effort to make the relationship work.”

Continued her, “Effort ding mag-compromise. Although it shouldn’t feel like you’re making an effort.

A refugee from Syria has his life changed after being viral on social media.

Abdul Halim al-Attar, a 33 year old father was one of the affected citizens from the war, and has to escape from his country for the sake of his family.

With no money, property, and anything in hand, Abdul, who was once used to be having a nice job that feeds his family, is now practically a homeless man.

But still eager to make a living, the man started selling pens, with his daughter on his arms, while his wife was out trying to find food as well.

The photograph of Abdul carrying his sleeping daughter on his shoulder while trying to sell his pens under the scorching heat went viral on social media, with the help of a photographer who got moved by his plight.

The photographer also created an online crowdfunding campaign in his name and collected $191,000.

Now, Abdul is far from the streets, successfully opened a bakery two months ago from the money he got and has since added a kebab shop and a small restaurant to his business venture. He employs 16 Syrian refugees.

Expressing his gratitude to the people, he vowed not to only make his life better but also his other people who are suffering from the war.

“Not only did my life change, but also the lives of my children and the lives of people in Syria whom I helped,” he said. Al-Attar said he gave away about $25,000 to friends and relatives in Syria.

n addition to the food businesses, al-Attar moved his children from the one bedroom that they all shared to a two-bedroom apartment in an unfinished building overlooking the highway in southern Beirut.
